Meet Nicola
Nicola Burke, RSW, MSW, was born & raised in Atlantic Canada, and has called Nain, Labrador home for nearly a decade. Nicola graduated Memorial University's School of Social Work, and has a Masters Degree from Wilfred Laurier University, with a focus on trauma-responsive, harm-reduction, and strengths-based counselling.
Since opening Northern path in 2023, Nicola has also completed an Advanced Standing Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier. This program furthered experience in family and couple therapy, and advanced clinical skills.
Over her career, Nicola has worked for many organizations that served individuals living with addictions and substance misuse.
Nicola has also worked for organizations that served gender and sexual minorities.
Nicola is a Mental Health Provider for or Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB), and the Anti-Human Trafficking Hotline of Canada.
Common feedback from sessions include that people feel comfortable, respected, heard and that they are not judged.
